What is Tri-M? Modern Music Masters “The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership.”

Chapter 5562 Chartered in 2007 Won “Chapter of the Year Outstanding Participant” 2007-2008 Will win “Chapter of the Year Outstanding Participant” 2013-2014! :D

Why Join? This society is nationally recognized as being equally rigorous and prestigious as any other honor society. (i.e. NHS, Science NHS, Foreign Language NHS, ect.) More performance opportunities Fellowship with fellow music lovers Being recognized for musical achievements

The Year Ahead 2 (at least) service projects Outings Musicales All-State Tri-M Sponsored Rehearsals

Membership Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Currently enrolled in a music class (Chorus or Band) 4.0 music class average 3.0 Cumulative GPA One time induction fee of $20 Legitimate interest in honoring the amazing musical achievements and talents of South Forsyth’s musical programs.

Points System - 5 points are earned for every chapter meeting attended - 5 points are earned for helping in the band or choir music library or assisting a director (for a minimum of 30 minutes and activity must be approved by an officer) - 5 points are earned for giving lessons without monetary gain (minimum of 30 minutes) - 5 points are earned for auditioning for an extracurricular ensemble or for a college audition (Ex. District Band/Chorus, All-State, Jazz Band, ect…) - 10 points are earned for performing in a required school concert - 3 points are earned for attending a concert in which one is not a participant - 10 points are earned for participating in a concert for an extracurricular ensemble - 10 points are earned for participating in a Tri-M sponsored service project or Musicale - 10 points are earned for participating in marching band (no other points can be earned for marching band activities).
