READING Please continue to support your child’s reading at home - a few minutes every day makes such an enormous difference. Children will be given individual reading books of a set colour. They can independently change their book from their colour box when they would like a new one. Please write your comments on how you feel your child is reading in the reading record book. It is important for your child to see both their teacher and other adults making positive comments on their reading. We hope you had a lovely half term break. This half term our two main topics will be ‘Nursery Rhymes’ and ‘Christmas’. We will also be learning about bonfire night and Remembrance Sunday. P.E. Sessions will be taught on a Friday afternoon (by GLK) and on a Thursday by Mrs Nelmes. Please ensure your child has a complete and named change of clothes in school (school PE T- shirt in house colour and navy shorts). They should also bring warm clothing (dark coloured tracksuits/sweatshirts/jog ging bottoms and trainers or plimsolls) for outdoor Games sessions. PHONICS The children will continue to learn a new sound every day. The sounds that we have introduced in school will be sent home in a wallet. Each day please can you help your child to learn the sounds and then practise blending the sounds to read words. Amazing Acorn Tree Please keep filling in your acorns to add to our class Acorn tree. We love sharing them!
