x y quadrants first quadrant second quadrant third quadrant fourth quadrant
6
x y Signs (+,+)(-, +) (-,-)(+,-)
7
x y “origin” (0,0) + + - -
8

10
x y Ordered Pair (-5, -4) Coordinate Plane
11
x y Graph (-5, 4) (-5,4)
12
x y Graph (0, 6) (0,6) quadrants first quadrant second quadrant third quadrant fourth quadrant Not in a quadrant if on either axis
13
x y Ordered Pair (-5, 0) Coordinates
14
x y (-3, 3) What are the coordinates? Which quadrant?

Cartesian Battleship Label from 10 to -10 on both x and y axis for your battle zone and your partner’s battle zone
21
Cartesian Battleship Plot your ships on “My Battle Zone”: (has to be consecutive either up down, left, right or diagonal) – Destroyer (, ) & (, ) – Submarine (, ) & (, ) & (, ) – Cruiser (, ) & (, )& (, ) & (, ) – Battleship (, )& (, ) & (, ) & (, ) – Carrier (, )&(, ) & (, )&(, )& (, ) Cover your paper as you do this!
22
Cartesian Battleship Take turns (rock paper scissor who goes first) X-hit 0- miss Mark for both your battle zone and your opponents If a player says an ordered pair twice they loose a turn If you get a hit you keep guessing until you miss.
23
Cartesian Battleship Objective is to sink all of your opponents ships Both you and your opponent will turn in your graphs for class work points.
