Class/Description Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is indicated for the management of moderately serve, acute pain that requires analgesia

Onset & Duration IV and IM
Onset: 30 minutes Peak: 1-2 hours Duration: 4-6 hours

Indications Ketorolac is indicated for moderate to serve musculoskeletal pain Unlike opioids ketorolac has no effect on the central nervous system and has no sedative or anti-anxiety effects

Contraindications Hypersensitivity Allergy to aspirin and other NSAIDs
Suspected or confirmed cerebrovascular bleeding Hemophilia or other bleeding disorders Do not use in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy

Contraindications Renal failure Dehydration
Upper GI bleed / ulcer history Heart failure Elderly patients* (relative contraindication)

Adverse Reactions Nausea Vomiting Pain at injection site
Prolonged bleeding time Edema Renal failure GI Bleed

How Supplied Injection IM or IV 15mg/ml (1 ml vials)
Color of solution: clear to slight yellowish Do not use if precipitate appears Store at 68 to 77⁰ F Protect from light

Protocol/Dosing General Care: Pain Management
Adults: Physician Option Only 30 mg IV or IM
