Valorization of finalized and well-done works, avoiding trial test and individual learning processes

Science notebook Format and contents Personal notebook or file with individual and collective works With texts, draws, charts, pictures… 3 functions for pupils: communication, memorization, conceptualization and for the teacher a tool for individual evaluation writing Structure : questions, observations, predictions, argumentation, experimental devices… No orthographic correction in individual part Use in kinder garden, pupils comment, teacher legend.

Evaluation In pilot centre ( Ariège) : almost 60 % teachers are using a science notebook for children 5 to 11 years, just 20 % for kinder garden In Bergerac : 100 % classes / 50% of teachers using for evaluation In Vaulx en Velin (200 classes) : increase of the general level of the national language test since 1995…. But no real assessment
