State of Israel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Letter dated 24 July 2000 from UN Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council Further to my report on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) of 20 July 2000 (S/2000/718), I have the honour to inform you that the Israeli authorities have removed all violations of the line of withdrawal. Further, in a meeting with Mr. Terje Roed-Larsen, my Special Envoy, President Lahoud and Prime Minister Hoss today gave their consent to the full deployment of UNIFIL. President Lahoud confirmed this decision to me in a subsequent telephone conversation.S/2000/718 The Force's deployment will take place on 26 July and is to be immediately followed by the deployment of the composite Lebanese unit referred to in paragraph 21 of my report of 16 June 2000 (S/2000/590). Major-General Obeng, the UNIFIL Force Commander, discussed with the Lebanese military authorities today the operational details of the deployment.S/2000/590 I should be grateful if you would bring this matter to the attention of the members of the Security Council. Her murder was the initiation rite of a terrorist cell, whose members were apprehended in July. Six members of a Hizballah-linked Palestinian terrorist cell responsible for the murder, originally thought to be criminally motivated, were arrested in July. The murder was the initiation rite of one of the terrorists into the organization.

The terrorists responsible for the attack were apprehended in July. Six members of a Hizballah-linked Palestinian terrorist cell responsible for the murder were arrested in July. The murder was the initiation rite of the organization.

David Solomonov was killed when Hizballah fired at an IDF force south of the Fatma Gate in the eastern sector. In addition, the Hizballah fired missiles and rockets at an IDF post in the Reches Ramim area.

Private David Markovitz opened fire, killing all four. In a heavy attack of mortars and Katyusha rockets that ensued, nine soldiers and and two civilians were injured.

In response, the IAF attacked a training base of the Popular Front, south of Beirut.
