Three Things I Think People Should Know By Natalie Hunt
2
#1 Clear, Forceful Sentences Sentences vary widely in style and subject matter, yet all good sentences are clear and forceful. BAD EXAMPLE: Nina, the cat that is owned by me, speaks quite often by meowing. GOOD EXAMPLE: Nina, my cat, meows a lot.

#2 Conciseness As a writer, I sometimes am not as concise as I should be in my writing. I should try to eliminate this by getting rid of useless words. Conciseness: Expressing what you have to say in a brief, yet effective manner. BAD EXAMPLE: On the date of the fourth of July, there seems to always be an affiliation of people joined together to make loud noises and enjoy themselves. GOOD EXAMPLE: On the fourth of July, people always seem to join together and have fun.

#3 Elaborate Language Out of all of the three things I have explained so far, this one is my greatest fault. I am always using elaborate language that is sometimes hard to pronounce and read. I do this naturally but try to make my words more simple. BAD EXAMPLE: Throughout the course of this film, the actors and actresses will be portraying a variety of idealistic characters who all, knowingly, do not care for the environment around them. This carelessness is intolerable. GOOD EXAMPLE: Throughout the movie, the actors will play a bunch of characters who do not care about their environment.
