Non-citizens of the U.S. Those who have been granted temporary, legal entry into this country Temporarily residing in the State of Illinois Ineligible for a Social Security number Be authorized to be in the country for at least one year and have at least six months remaining on an authorized stay

SEVIS I-20 or DS-2019 (Original & a Copy) I-94 (Original & a Copy) Valid Passport (Original & a Copy) Rejection Letter from the Social Security Administration received within 30 days prior to the application of TVDL

Valid for three years Or for the period of time the individual is authorized to stay in this country, whichever ends sooner. Renewable – not before 90 days of current license expiration date

Bring your Social Security Card, passport, I-94 print out, I-20 or DS-2019, and proof of your local address (piece of mail). You will be required to take a vision and written test. You will be required to take a driving test if: You do not have a driver’s license from your home country Your home country drives on the left side of the road. You must take the test in your own vehicle.
