Pathfinder Plaster Craft Honor

The Steps Step 1 (Preparing) Cover your work surface with a newspaper, vinyl, or plastic. Plaster casting is a bit messy so it is important to keep your area neat. Step 2 (Inspecting) Inspect the mold to make sure it is clean and dry - any dirt will show up on the finished casting. Step 3 (Mixing) Add plaster slowly to the water. Add water as needed. Step 4 (Pouring) Make sure to get all the air bubbles out. Tap and wiggle the mold and ensure it is level. Clean off any extra. Step 5 (Drying) Most molds will not sit flat on the counter so it may be necessary to support them for use. One way is to use a zip lock bag with rice in it. Make sure to let the project dry for about 2-3 days. Step 6 (Painting) Once your project is dry, you are ready to paint. If you want dab a small drop of “super glue” and add a magnet on the back so you can put it on your refrigerator. Apply a clear coat. That’s It!

Mixing When you begin mixing your plaster, it will harden fast to be sure to pour it right after you mix it. It should look like “pancake batter” maybe a little thinner.
4
Pouring Before you pour you must spray the mold with a non-stick spray. When you pour your mold, take your time, pour slowly, and try to get all the bubbles out. Gently tap your mold.
5
Taking it out of the mold Gently flip over your mold. Be carful not to let it hit a hard surface (it could crack). Make sure you mix it correctly, if not, it may look like this! ->
6
Painting Your project is ready for paint. Take your time and do a good job. Try different colors. Don’t make a mess .
