COMMON PROBLEMS IN PAINTS
4
Flaking
5
Chalking
6
Efflorescence & Fungus Formation
7
WHAT IS THE CAUSE FOR ALL THESE PROBLEMS? Is it Paint (Or) Painter (Or) Something Else It is due to “Dampness” COMMON PROBLEMS IN PAINTS THE FACT: EMULSION/ ENAMEL/ DISTEMPER PAINTS CAN NOT WITHSTAND SUSTAINED DAMPNESS THESE PAINTS ADHERE BETTER TO THE SURFACE AS LONG AS IT IS DRY.
8
NEW WALLS ARE GENERALLY DAMP AND HENCE THE ACRYLLIC PAINTS/ PUTTY MAY NOT ADHERE (BIND/ STICK) TO THE SURFACE PROPERLY
9
HENCE THE PAINT NEEDS A BASE WHICH PROVIDES A DRY SURFACE & AT THE SAME TIME SHOULD WITHSTAND DAMPNESS TOO, FOR DURABILITY
10
is a definite solution to protect the expensive paints and also to enhance the beauty of your walls. USING

WHAT IS WALL CARE PUTTY? White Cement based material in dry powder form ideal for use on walls (exteriors & interiors) and ceilings, known as “skim coat” in Singapore Available in fine and coarse (matt) finish Cementious material to obtain water resistant base having better adhesiveness and durability Base coat to protect paint from dampness and hence to eliminate flaking / blistering Can be used for both - Internals and Externals
12
WHY WALL CARE PUTTY? Most of us plan to beautify our homes through painting without knowing as to how the painting can be ensured to last long Just as strong foundation ensures high durability for building, an appropriate base on which paint is applied will only ensure life of the paint Paint generally flake / blister because of dampness. WCP, being water resistant, protects paint from dampness WCP provides protective base to our expensive paints – reduces paint consumption (20 to 25%) and so saves paint cost Can be applied on moist surfaces as well as during rainy season Needs no water curing Needs no primer Suitable for all kind of paints & distempers Brings out the true color / shade of paint Contains fungicides

16
Role of Wall Care Putty To smoothen the surface. To fill the fine pores on the wall surface. Provide firm base for subsequent paint. Elegant look / Aesthetic appeal. More coverage for subsequent costly paints. Protect the wall.
17
Salient Features Being Cementitious material, it has better adhesiveness and durability, than conventional putty. It is water resistant and can be applied on moist surfaces. It is applied on both Exteriors and Interiors.
18
It does not require water curing. It contains fungicides to prevent the growth of fungus on its surface. White and smooth finish after application of BW Wall Care Putty.
19
Salient Features Flexibility of applying pastel colours on wall after BW Wall Care putty application to get true color tone.
20
Method of Application : -Prepare the base surface (wall) -Properly wet the surface -Prepare the putty by adding 30- 35% water -Apply on prepared surface with putty knife (1st coat)
21
Method of Application : -After drying ( 3 hrs.) rub the surface with cloth and apply II nd coat. -After overnight drying, rub the surface with 500 and above emery paper & then apply paint.
22
Precautions : -Putty thickness should be < 1 mm per coat. -Pre-wet the surface properly before applying putty. -Keep putty in dry place. -Use putty within 2 hrs. of preparation.
