Plaster People TLW Gain an understanding of media, techniques and processes Inncrease their knowledge of structures and functions throughout the construction process Choose and evalusate a range of subjet matter and examine a range of symbols and ideas Research the historical aspect of working in plaster media Reflect upon and asses the characteristics and merits of their work and the work of otheres.

George Segal Worked in the medium of plaster installations in the 1960’s Most of his figures are cast and set in an actual environment such as a lunch counter or street crossing. Many of his figures had a social comment on a contemporary issue. Plaster Sculpture Procedure Specific Casting procedures will be passed out in written form. Students will complete a series of drawing and sketches in order to develop a design element for each project. Each project will be free standing Each sculpture will be structurally sound Written critiques will follow completion of sculpture Grading will adhere to a rubric evaluation
