5 Describe the main protagonist into detail. What about her clothes, her hair? Scruffy, laces… undone, socks…hanging down, shirt hanging out, ribbons… hair… undone…, a plaster…her knee, untidily dressed…. What about her look? Pleased with herself =smug, triumphant, glorious, proud, grinning, confident, rebellious, overjoyed, on cloud nine…

6 Describe the other protagonists. How do they look? Strict, angry=mad…, clean and tidy-looking, smartly-dressed, professional, … What do you think of their personality? Authoritative, scornful, high expectations, …

7 What has happened? Why is the girl in this state? Use present perfect BE+ING To fight, to quarrel, to behave like a boy, … Why is she there? Get summoned to, to be in trouble, …

8 Express contrast Use: -On the one hand…, on the other hand… -Contrary to…; unlike… -Whereas…; while…

9 What is going to happen now? Use BE+going to to speak about the future. Get told off, get a suspension, get punished, get warned, get lines,detention,get community service….

10 Going further What about you? Have you ever felt pleased with yourself whereas your parents or teachers disapproved?
