3.  Why did God give prophecy?  To let us know what is ahead  To encourage us to hope in Him  So we can see the big picture  Authenticating the Word of God The Purpose of Prophecy Deuteronomy 29:29 (ESV) “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

5. Pointing us to God’s glory Isaiah 44:7-8 (ESV) Who is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and set it before me, since I appointed an ancient people. Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen. 8 Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.”
