Goals Outreach: Create a interactive network of Students and Fellows across the globe working in a probiotics, prebiotics or related field, and promote real time interactions. Act as a resource for ISAPP and industry

Outreach Linking people: Set up a web-based method of communication: webpage linked to ISAPP main page: Facebook, forums. - Start the dialogue and use this community to discuss new topics, research, ideas, get help solving a research problem -Database of student profiles. -PI’s and industry can access this pool, and have ability through SFA to post opportunities Drivers- Ashwana, Sarah, Maria-Alejandra

SFA members at ISAPP 2010 ISAPP 2010: -input for discussion topics and notetakers, -Poster session (with selection using abstract submission) -Career Opportunity session -Fun activities and local organization -Travel Grant given to SFA members attending Driver – Alicia/Ruben

Activities for next year Short-term internships/Training Opportunity for SFA members for short visits (few weeks to a few months) to another lab to learn a new technique Driver: Tyler Newsletter: First will be report on Sackler/ISAPP 2009 and invitation for students and fellows to join the group Upcoming events, breaking news in pre/probiotics, significant SFA publications, training and opportunities. Small SFA symposium Improving ISAPP’s visibility via conferences and symposiums: ASM or LAB 10? – arrange opportunity for SFA members to attend and meet. Organize a small symposium within conference.
