UM System Sexual Assault and Mental Health Task Force Updates and Next Steps
2
UM System Task Force President Wolfe commissioned a System Mental Heath and Sexual Assault Task Force: Charged with conducting a comprehensive review of policies, training and procedures concerning the prevention and reporting of sexual assaults and the availability of mental health services. Goal is to ensure each campus has the necessary resources to educate students, faculty and staff about sexual assault and prevention as well as an effective process for reporting such incidents, plus adequate capacity to address mental health issues among our campus community. Each Chancellor appointed a representative to serve on the System Task Force.

6
Consultant Recommendations After reviewing the UM Campuses’ inventories and processes, they gave the four campuses a grade: UMKC received C- The other campuses received D- Impressed with UMKC’s “culture of training” but acknowledged the “difficult crossroads” we now face with the loss of funding from the VAWA Grant. Also suggested that the UM CRRs were confusing and should be revised.
