II. In Christ! a. In Christ, I am Christ’s friend. John 15:14-17 (NCV) 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father. 16 You did not choose me; I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit, fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

b.In Christ, I am I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing in his inheritance with Him.

c. In Christ, I am united to the Lord, one spirit with Him. 1 Corinthians 6:17 New (NASB) 17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

d.In Christ, I am hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3 (NIV) 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

I.In Christ, I have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 (NCV) 12 Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but we received the Spirit that is from God so that we can know all that God has given us. 13 And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom but with words taught us by the Spirit. And so we explain spiritual truths to spiritual people. 14 A person who does not have the Spirit does not accept the truths that come from the Spirit of God. That person thinks they are foolish and cannot understand them, because they can only be judged to be true by the Spirit. 15 The spiritual person is able to judge all things, but no one can judge him. The Scripture says: 16 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Who has been able to teach him?” Isaiah 40:13 But we have the mind of Christ.

b.In Christ, I am I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing in his inheritance with Him. Heir - one who receives or is entitled to receive some endowment or quality from a parent or predecessor. - a person inheriting and continuing the legacy of a predecessor. Romans 8:16-17 (NKJV) 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
