4. New Year's Eve Campfire Bonfires attract and mesmerize There is something special about campfires and fire in general. The bible talks a lot about fire. We can make a number of associations with fire.

5. I. FIRE AND UNITY COALS, SEPARATE COOL, TOGETHER ALL BURN HOTTER Heb 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, {25} not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

6. II. FIRE AND WARMTH Acts 28:2 And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold.

FIRE AND LIGHT Mat 25:1-13 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. {2} "Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. {3} "Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, {4} "but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. {5} "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. {6} "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' {7} "Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. {8} "And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ >>>

FIRE AND LIGHT {9} "But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' {10} "And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. {11} "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' {12} "But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' {13} "Watch there­fore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

9. IV. FIRE AND ATTRACTION TEND TO GATHER AROUND FIRE, WOODSTOVE, CAMPFIRES Exo 3:2-3 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not [burn]."

12. VII. FIRE AND PUNISHMENT Mat 13:49-50 "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, {50} "and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wail­ing and gnashing of teeth."
