4 Students accepted into the U of MD program in aerospace or mechanical engineering attending classes at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC) will automatically be accepted into the Co-Op program. Student Benefits 4

10 As an option, students may enroll in the Co-Op program and not accept tuition and book reimbursement. Remain in good standing w/academic institution. 12 Applications are accepted year-round for the Co-Op program; however, the highest priority will be given to students enrolled in the AE or ME programs offered by the U of Md at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center. If you do not pursue the AE or ME program at SMHEC, you may still apply for a Co-Op position; however, your application will be considered in a much larger candidate pool on a competitive basis.
