Freshmen Requirements Language Arts 9* Math* Earth Science* American History* Physical Education AND/OR Health& Financial Literacy* Elective Credits Minimum credits needed for promotion to 10 th grade=5 *Required courses must be passed or repeated

Sophomore Requirements Language Arts 10* Math* Biology 1* Essentials of World History or AP World History* Physical Education AND/OR Health & Financial Literacy* Electives Minimum credits needed for promotion to 11 th grade = 11 *Required courses must be passed or repeated

Junior Requirements Language Arts 11 or AP Language and Composition* Math* Science* Street Law or Psych/Soc or AP Social Studies* Electives Minimum credits needed for promotion to 12 th grade = 17 *Required courses must be passed or repeated

Senior Requirements Language Arts 12 or AP Literature and Composition* Math* Science* Government or AP Government* Electives Minimum credits needed for graduation = 23 *Required courses must be passed or repeated

Graduation Requirements—23 credits Non-PLCC 4 English 4.5 Social Studies 4 Science 4 Math (Alg 2) Health ½ credit PE 1 Business Elective or Foreign Language or Fine Art PLCC 4 English 3.5 Social Studies 3 Science 4 Math (Alg 2) Health ½ credit PE 1 Business Elective or Foreign Language or Fine Art *Pass all 5 parts of Ohio Graduation Test

Timeline FEBRUARY 21 st --Scheduling Packets are presented to students FEBRUARY 21st–26th Review courses then add course requests to “Scheduling Worksheet” Students obtain teacher recommendations (if required) on February 26th Review and sign “Scheduling Worksheet” If interested in PSEO, must complete the Intent to Enroll form* *Juniors and Seniors ONLY WEEK OF FEBRUARY 24 th —NEXT WEEK!! Complete online scheduling during lunch at the scheduling station (Paw Stop) upon completion of “Scheduling Worksheet” Counselors available during lunch to answer questions

Timeline MARCH 3 Student scheduling requests closed MAY 23 Completed 2014-15 schedule requests will be issued to students for review MAY 25– JUNE 5 Schedule changes can be made by completing a course change request form in guidance office New policy: No schedule changes will be made after June 5 th (see policy details on guidance website)

What’s New? PSEO—Beginning Arabic or Chinese (Distance Learning) Drama II Music Theory Advanced Acting Beginning Weight Training 2D Art 2 and 2D Art 4 3D Art 3 and 3D Art 4 Study Hall—ONE period per semester Classes may have prerequisites

PLCC Students Mark “Full Day” or “½ Day” in the top right hand corner of your “Scheduling Worksheet” Complete PLCC application by March 15 th If you are ½ day, select 4 classes and 4 alternates Full day PLCC students use course code 13PLCC

CBE—Cooperative Business Education PLCC option reserved for SENIORS ONLY Go to approved work site half day Requires completion of PLCC application

Post Secondary (PSEO) Attend a PSEO information night (sessions held on conference nights) Complete “Intent to Enroll” form and return to guidance by March 30 th Take ACT/SAT as soon as possible Apply to the University by the application deadline found on each school’s website Course code sheet available at the end of this meeting and in guidance office

Important Reminders Each student must choose 8 classes AND 4 alternates Alternate choices will be used in the event of a scheduling conflict You are responsible to review course descriptions and prerequisites to ensure you are qualified to take the course. You will be removed from any class for which prerequisites have not been met

More Important Reminders Any class requiring an audition or application MUST be listed as alternates (examples Musical Theater, Ensemble, Yearbook) If you choose a ½ credit class, you must select another to complete the year. They are: Fundamentals of Public Speaking Argumentation and Debate Creative Writing Greek Mythology Sports in Literature Photo 1and Photo2 Study Hall
