Total school population: 2,097 students Three class periods Sophomore- Senior grade levels Health classes

37.8 percent of AHS students reporting being victimized within the past 12 months (as compared to 10 percent of a national sample) 32.8 percent of AHS students reporting having been the perpetrator of bullying within the past 12 months (as compared to 13 percent of a national sample)

The mission of The Beef About Bullies program is to provide high school students with the knowledge and skills to combat and prevent bullying. Goal 1: To increase knowledge about the negative effects of bullying. Goal 2: To provide bullying intervention skills to students. Goal 3: To increase students perceived ability to intervene in a bullying situation.

Objective 1.1: After The Beef About Bullies program on bullying prevention, at least 40% of the students will be able to identify three negative effects of being bullied. (82%-Met)

Objective 1.2: After The Beef About Bullies program, 50% of students will be able to identify three ways to cope with the effects of bullying. (67%- Met)

Objective 1.3: After The Beef About Bullies program, 40% of the students will be able to recognize five warning signs of potential suicide. (54%- Met)

Objective 1.4: After The Beef About Bullies program, when given options on the posttest, 60% of students will be able to identify two reasons why people bully. (72%-Met)

Objective 2.1: After The Beef About Bullies program, 45% of the students will be able to identify at least five warning signs of bullying. (70%-Met)
