3 HONOR … INTEGRITY … SELFLESS SERVICE … DISCIPLINE TAMU NAVAL ROTC 1 - NROTC leadership is required to track degree plans and therefore we have military advisors assigned to work one-on-one with our scholarship cadets. You will see a request for validation from the NROTC Unit that will require your concurrence / validation on degree plans. 2 - Any change / adjustments in degree plan that requires the cadets to extend their graduation date must be approved by the Navy / USMC. Very important because of fiscal year constraints. 3 - Any change in major must be approved by the Navy and USMC – Navy in particular has very strict guidelines. 4 - Our scholarship students are required to take Naval Science courses. In addition, there are “core” courses that are service specific such as physics and calculus for Navy Scholarship students. In short they must carry more credit hours beyond those required for their degree. 5 - Our scholarship students must complete annual summer training, but we can make adjustments to enable students to take summer courses as required.

6 HONOR … INTEGRITY … SELFLESS SERVICE … DISCIPLINE TAMU Army ROTC 1 - Army ROTC (AROTC) validates and properly tracks degree plans for Cadets via a Cadet Command Form 104-R. This form is reviewed by the Cadet, Academic Advisor, Military Science Instructor and the Professor of Military Science. For those Cadets that are pursuing a commission into the US Army, this form contains their “blueprint for success” concerning graduation and future service as a Second Lieutenant. 2 - Contracted Cadets (those that are on scholarship or seeking a commission) that request either a change in major or a change in their expected graduation date must have approval from the Professor of Military Science. 3 - Military Science courses and associated labs are required for our Cadets seeking a commission. This Military Science instruction is in addition to credits required for their respective degrees. 4 - AROTC Cadets have the opportunity to pursue various volunteer opportunities such as Study Abroad, Project Global Officer and Culture Understanding and Language Proficiency Training that produce a more well rounded student and leader. 5 - Contracted Cadets are required to attend the Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) which is normally between their junior and senior years. This course is a five week summer course utilized to evaluate and train the Cadets.
