Admission Criteria 1. Admission to ASU 2. Eligible to apply after completion of 45 semester hours 3. Cumulative GPA 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale 4. Completion of Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) with required benchmark 5. Completed application to the nursing program: Deadline April 15 th, 2010

Admission Criteria Acceptance to the University, completion of preliminary course work, GPA, satisfactory TEAS scores does not guarantee admission to the BSN program. Admission is a competitive process

Admission Criteria Not all applicants who meet the minimum requirements can be accommodated; therefore, applicants whose credentials present the best qualifications of those meeting requirements will be selected. Total # of students accepted: Up to 40 per year Applications will be available on-line soon.

CPR Prior to enrollment all students must complete the Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals course offered by the American Heart Association. Costs vary. May range from $35 to $50.

Immunizations Students must have the following immunization for admittance to ASU : DTP or Tdap -3 doses, Polio –3 doses, Measles and Mumps – 2 doses, Rubella -1 dose. In addition, the nursing program requires: A 2 step TB test (PPD) – Annually, Varicella (Chicken Pox) – 2 doses or titer, Hepatitis B -3 doses. Influenza vaccine is highly recommended. Criminal Background Checks and Drug Screening Clinical agencies may require students to have criminal background checks and drug screens. The agencies make the determination if students will be permitted to attend clinical at their agency. If a suitable placement cannot be found for a student, they will be dismissed from the program.

Criminal Background Checks and Drug Screening Criminal background checks cost approximately $25, drug screens cost approximately $40 - $50 dollars. Specific information regarding criminal background checks and drug screens will be provided in the provisional acceptance letter. DO NOT obtain prior to acceptance into the program.
