18 Transfer Equivalency Worksheet  Review for any missing courses and/or credits  Check for appropriate Mason equivalencies  Example: You need an Abnormal PSYC course but you took “Psychopathology” at University X but were given credit for an elective instead of PSYC 325  Should something need to be corrected, you must complete a Transfer Re-evaluation Form and see your academic advisor

20 Guaranteed admission & Gen Ed Waivers Criteria for guaranteed admission:  Completion of AA, AS, AA & S (Associate of Arts and Sciences)*not AAS  Cumulative GPA of 2.85 or better Criteria for general education waivers:  Same criteria as guaranteed admission, PLUS  Completion of ENG 111 and required Math at the community college from which student is transferring

22 How To Be Successful  Go to class!  Communicate with your instructor  Utilize instructor office hours  Directory posted in hall of David King Hall  Utilize campus resources:  Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) academic skills workshop; Writing Center; Career Services and more!  Join or create study groups

23 How to Be Successful  Get involved in undergraduate research  Undergraduate research assistant in a lab, OSCAR (Students as Scholars)  Join psychology organizations  Psi Chi: national honor society in psychology (complete minimum of 12 hrs of PSYC and meet GPA requirements)  Honors: 3-semester curriculum for majors (join as early as sophomore year)
