Status - Oracle Software Upgrade Project Actual achieved Planned progress

Highlights: Oracle Software Upgrade Project System Testing & Single User Performance Testing completed 6 th Apr 2007 as per plan and without any major defects. All defects have been resolved prior to moving into UAT and OAT phases. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) completed with only highlighted 7 minor defects, mainly cosmetic. Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) & multiple user Performance Testing (PT) completed with no performance degradation issues. Shipper Confidence Phase completed successfully. Thanks to eon, Statoil and Electrabel for their time. Confidence Testing included a number of API’s and On-Line Transactions

Implementation Strategy Dress Rehearsal: Currently in the detailed planning phase Revised start date 23 rd July – delayed by 1 week Implementation planning: Planning commenced Detailed implementation activities to include lessons learnt during Dress Rehearsal Overall project status: Amber

Key Dates Pre Cut-over Activities (23 rd July – 29 th July) A number of pre-cutover implementation activities are required. The most significant of these will require two of the current production servers to be taken out of service for approx 30 minutes each Likely to be managed in maintenance window, therefore, no outage required At any point one of the two servers will be available this will ensure continuation of service Implementation Go / No Go Meetings: 9 th August (For implementation activities on 12 th August) 16 th August (For implementation activities on 19 th August)

Implementation Strategy Phased over two weekends (12 th Aug & 19 th Aug) Due to volume of servers which need to be upgraded To ensure resilience and fall-back options Keep outages at acceptable level for business, likely to be in the region of 7-8 hours (both weekends) Schedule 12 th August – This will involve the removal of c.50% of production servers, which will be replaced with temporary production servers. 13 th -17 th August - the removed production servers will be upgraded. 19 th August – Swap the temporary servers with the upgraded production servers and the remaining c.50% of production servers will be upgraded. Line Pack information will be provided by Transmission via an off line system during outages
