2 JAG Mission JAG’s mission is to help young people stay in school and to acquire the academic, personal, leadership and vocational skills they will need to be successful upon graduation.

3 Target Population Youth grades 6-12 facing barriers to education and career success. Last year, JAG students represented a diverse demographic: – 81% minority – 71% low income – 40% first generation high school graduates – 82% first generation college graduates

4 Program Model JAG Coordinator Workplace and College Readiness Skills Training Career Association - Youth Leadership Education and Career Planning Academic Enrichment 1:45 teacher/student ratio For-credit elective class Student-led organization Year-long intervention 12 month follow-up after graduation

5 Addressing Key Transitions Middle Grades High School College & Career 6 th -9 th grade through Destination Graduation: *Balsz Elementary *Camelback High School Desert Oasis Elementary *Central High School *Dunbar ElementaryGila Bend High School *Griffith Elementary *Heard Elementary *Osborn Middle School PH Gonzales Elementary Sheely Farms Elementary *Destination Graduation Programs, through a partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way. 10 th – 13th grade: Arcadia High Compadre High Coronado High Hope High Paradise Valley High Peoria High Santa Cruz Valley Union Sunrise Mountain High Tempe High

7 Get Involved Sponsor a Program or Student Speak in a JAG Classroom Mentor or tutor a student Sponsor a student leadership event Sponsor a delegate to the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, DC.
