Technology The television set may have been around a few countries in the 1940’s, but in the 50’s the television craze exploded across the world. Entertainment With the rise in dramatic television shows, so also came a rise in the celebrity count. Advertising Because of the affordability of the television set, businesses saw this as their opportunity to showcase their product to millions of more people than the radio or the newspaper. At first, commercials were relatively cheap, and a single company would sponsor an entire television program. But do to the rise in demand, commercials were forced to become short and sweet, and became quite expensive.
