3. I come to Turkish Kidney Foundation three times a week for dialysis… Every session lasts four hours... Dialysis takes most of my time, so I could not complete my formal education and I cannot work…

4. I am 29 years old. My kidneys were damaged because I consumed too much salt and I didn’t drink enough water … I am listed on National Transplantation List and waiting for kidney…

5. I like to be a part of Turkish Kidney Foundation. I have friends who share the same destiny like me here. Celebrities, artists and sportsman come to visit us both during dialysis sessions and outdoor because we have very limited access to social life like healthy people.

6. We have to be very careful about nutrition. It is impossible to go to a cafe and drink a cup of coffee for us. As a dialysis patient, I feel that it’s my duty to warn people about kidney health. I tell them to visit their physician regulary, test their blood sugar and blood pressure, the importance of urine test and to limit their salt consumption.

7. We celebrated World Kidney Day on March 12, 2009. Although it rained so heavily, volunteers and dialysis patients had the walkathon along the county’s main street under and we could manage to attract people’s attention to chronic kidney disease…

8. 14.045 people are waiting for kidneys like me. The dialysis machine which cleans my blood is not only my lifeguard, but also my shackles.
