1. Huff School recognizes that when the spheres of influence, which include the home and the school, are in a partnership of agreement, understanding, communication and goals, that the student has a greater opportunity to succeed and excel socially, in citizenship, and academically in National, State, County, and School standards. 2. Student I will become an active partner in my own learning progress by doing the following:  Attending school regularly  Cooperating with teachers and parents  Doing my best work and keep trying even when the work is hard  Completing my assignments and include as much leisure reading as possible  Assisting in keeping the school safe and clean  Respecting the rights and property of others  Complying with school rules  Participating in classroom activities  Utilizing the Accelerated Reader Program for independent reading  Give to my parents or guardians all notices and information received by me and my school everyday As a Student, I need:  Teachers and parents who support and care about me and people who believe that I can learn  Time and caring adults  Respect for me as an individual

3. Parent I will encourage and support my child's learning by doing the following:  Require regular attendance  Attend parent teacher conferences as much as possible and read all notices from the school and respond as appropriate  Volunteer as much as possible at the school  Participate in my child’s education  Promote positive use of my child’s extracurricular time  Encourage positive attitudes about school and supporting school rules and procedures  Providing a quiet, well lighted study area, establishing a time to study, overseeing homework completion, and encouraging completion of class assignments As A Caring/Parent adult, I need:  Clear and frequent communication and information between the school and myself  Respect for me and my children as unique individuals

4. School Staff I will encourage and support students' learning in our school by doing the following:  Provide parents with progress reports in the middle of each quarter and report cards at the end of each quarter Demonstrating care and concern for each student  Managing the school and classroom to provide a safe environment  Managing the school and classroom to encourage learning and help children achieve state performance standards  Make efficient use of academic learning time  Welcoming the participation of parents in the classroom and in achieving high education goals As a member of our school staff, I need:  Students ready and willing to learn  Respect and support from students, families, other staff members, administration, and community
