BACKGROUND Cikapundung River is one of the major rivers that passes through Bandung city and become major source of clean water for Bandung society. Cikapundung River has 15,400 hectares of riparian area with total population of 750,000 people. As a result of rapid urban residential on the riparian, this river has been poorly polluted by directly discharged domestic and industrial wastewater as well as domestic solid waste.

MODEL SYSTEM OVERVIEW Development of integrated gravity sewerage system, anaerobic bio- filter system for wastewater treatment; and floating aquatic system for effluent polishing treatment; for urban settlement in riparian area Encourage community participation in preparation, execution, operation and maintenance of facilities

Kirtipur housing project is an eco-friendly community built on the principles of community based water resource management. Located in Kathmandu, Kirtipur Housing is home for slum and squatter communities. Rapid urbanization has put strains on the basic services and infrastructure of the cities far beyond their existing capacities. This project was targeting on sustainable solutions for the problems that negatively impact the community both socially and environmentally.
