13. Mt. Kato  Mount Kato is owned by Afton Alps that is Located east of the Twin Cities.  Mount Kato is not only a place for skiing: Snowboarding Biking Tubing  Mount Kato offers year round fun and excitement!

14. Brief History  Mt. Kato was previously owned by the Anderson Family of Mankato.  It was purchased from them in 1977 by Afton Alps.  1982-87 the back side of the hill was opened for skiing.  1991-92 the add on of the ski shop was opened  2000-2001 the new ski patrol/ski school building will be opened.
