Coaches Role Communicate goals and objectives to skaters and parents Communicate figure skating skills instructions and make coaching decisions effectively To be up ‐ to ‐ date with Skate Canada rules and rule amendments at all times To be responsible for upgrading skills and knowledge in the sport of figure skating on a regular basis To analyze, identify errors and provide constructive feedback to the skaters, and parents To identify talented skaters with natural abilities through the use of criteria set in the Talent Identification and Development Plan in the club To organize and implement a fun, safe and enjoyable environment to all skaters.

Parent’s role All parents are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible manner consistent with the values of fair play, integrity, open communication and mutual respect. Parents shall always model positive and responsible behaviour and communicate with their son/daughter that they expect them to do the same. Parents will assume the major responsibility for their son/daughter’s on ice conduct and attitude. Parents shall at all times treat all individuals and property with dignity, courtesy and respect, including but not limited to skaters, coaches, officials, volunteers, other parents, and all other individuals that are part of the club, skating school, Section or Skate Canada. Parents shall refrain from any behaviour, or comments, which are profane, insulting, harassing, sexist, racist, abusive, disrespectful or otherwise offensive without hostility or violence. Parents shall emphasize the importance of values like sportsmanship, respect, cooperation, competition and teamwork to their son/daughter offering praise for competing fairly, participation and skill development. Parents shall model and encourage their son/daughter to maintain a healthy balance between skating and life. (i.e., school, other activities, social life, etc.) Parents shall model and encourage balanced, healthy food choices and subscribing to an active and healthy lifestyle. Parents shall set high, but reasonable expectations for their son/daughter’s participation in skating focusing on development and enjoyment for the child.

Competitive Skate Primary skating location COP Skates up to 6 days a week depending on level and package Skaters learn valuable life skills such as goal setting, focus, ability to deal with success/failure, time management and principles of fair play and sportsmanship. Opportunity to be selected to Skate Canada's National Team and represent Canada internationally Compete at Skate Canada Sectionals and possibility to advance to Skate Canada Challenge, and/or the Canadian Figure Skating Championships Access to sport science services

Refunds Medical refunds with medical note (for missed ice of longer than one week) $25 Admin fee applies Your coach has asked you to skate on a session you normally don’t skate on. Pick up ice is available for any member at the member rate $14 per hour or $130 for a 10 session pass Pick up must be paid prior to stepping on the ice to the person working in the music room (Rink Chair) or to your coach if nobody is in the music room. Preferred method of payment is cheque

Ice canceled by CALALTA for tests, competitions or other special events can be made up at no additional charge. Session pick up passes will be available from the rink chair/music room. Missed ice for any other reason cannot be transferred or made up at a different time. You must skate the sessions you registered for or pay applicable pick up fees. Your ice fees have been pro-rated to accommodate known ice cancellations so no pick up passes will be issued for statutory holidays or other scheduled ice interruptions. Ice sessions at COP is priced at 13 skaters for day sessions and 19 skaters for prime time session as break even without taking any overhead into consideration
