Lonely: Let Go and Know God Psalm 46:10

“It is strange to be known so universally, and yet to be so lonely.” ~ Albert Einstein

“I think we are a very lonely populace; we are cut apart from each other.” ~ George Gallup

Loneliness “An unpleasant feeling in which people experience a strong sense of emptiness and unhealthy solitude.” A spiritual state of being separated in fellowship from God first, and from spiritual connection with other people.

“Loneliness can be our “friend” when it forces us to enjoy our friendship with God as much as we would the friendship of others.” ~ Bill Gothard

“Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds — his name is the Lord — and rejoice before him. 5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. 6 God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; ~ Psalm 68:4-6

When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, 22 I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. 23 Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. ~ Psalm 73:21-26

“Loneliness is the anguish I feel when I sense I am cut off from the spirit of others. “Loneliness is the evidence that I was expecting others to meet my needs as only God can. “Loneliness means at that very moment, God feels the same anguish toward me because my delight is not in Him.” ~ Bill Gothard

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)
