WHAT IS SIGNIFICANT ABOUT VERBS? A verb is an important part of every sentence. No sentence is complete without a verb (and a subject noun). A verb tells what someone or something does or is. In other words, a verb shows action or condition.

ACTION VERBS Action verbs tell what a person has done or is doing; they’re actions or activities that can be completed Examples: The doctor treated the patient. She found a shard of pottery.

CONDITION VERBS Condition verbs link a noun or pronoun with words that describe the condition of the noun or pronoun. Example: 1.The Egyptian ruins were spectacular The Egyptian ruins were spectacular 2. He is my brother. He is my brother.
