2. Be neutral at all times. Its red and blue fighting, not Charlie and John. The individuals that are fighting are totally irrelevant. The best fighter here and now will be the winner. Coaches often yell, saying a technique scores. You are the judge to distinguish what scores. Remember at all times that you are a member of a Team (R&J).

3. Do not get distracted by other things, watch and focus only on your task. Don’t talk to anyone during a fight unless the referee asks you about a situation. A judge needs to know the rules! Read them and read again! Try to find errors in the rules and address the responsible person. Be able to fill in and use of the scorecard correctly finding the right winner.

4. Never give points for techniques which are fouls, even if the referee fails to call attention to them. Never discuss the decision publicly. To say that you think that a fighter won, just gives more criticism back against the judiciary. Next time, it is you who will be affected on your decision. Judges come from gyms/countries. The judges will be responsible for educating gyms/countries in behavior and rule interpretation. All “problems” with a decision of R&J Team Stay in the Team and are resolved inside the R&J Team.

7. Scoring of a round

8. 10-10 Very even in all aspects. Same power and number of hits. 10-9 slight advantage for one fighter. 10-8 A knock-down or complete domination of round. 10-7 two knock-downs in same round. (Outclass) 9-10 Red has been knocked down and blue warned. 9-10 Red has been knocked-down but otherwise dominated the round.

9. Don't break the fight to early. Never give 10-8 in the first round without a knock-down. Be careful with 10-8, it should be very clear round victory. Do not be tricked by spectacular techniques. Judge the whole round, not just the last part of the round to decide who wins the round. An official warning is a minus point.
