CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 7 Shortcomings For Students vResumes have been prepared before for other classes, so a few students were not eager to redo their resume. vThey didn’t like researching different types of resumes on the Internet. vSome students found it difficult to assess their skills and abilities with no job experience. vFrustration with having to do many drafts before final printout.
9
CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 8 The resume was the culminating activity. It was worth 64 points; and as you can see from the following table, a majority of the students were very successful.
10
CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 9 The above table is a comparison of male/female results. It shows that their scores were very close. The females did slightly better.
11
CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 10 This charts shows that students were able to score higher on their post- test due to the research and activities performed in this lesson.
12
CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 11 Teacher Revisions The rubric was too lengthy. It was a little difficult to grade resumes using this rubric, so I will be editing this rubric to make it easier to use. I currently have too many criteria rows on the rubric so some may have to be eliminated or consolidated with other criteria.

CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 13 Conclusion vI have learned a lot in this class. At first I was a little overwhelmed at how I was going to get this done in three weeks but it all came together. vEvery year I do teach how to write a resume, but I am glad that I have a web site on this important subject. By having the students do research on the Internet and find examples of resumes, they have a better idea of what is expected of them. vHaving made the rubric is also a great help in that students know exactly what I will be looking for when I grade their resumes.
15
CTAP 295 Teaching With Technology 14 vI am really glad I took this class. vThe students did a great job on their resumes and were really excited about the resume contest. Some students asked me every day if I had gotten back the results. I’m finished!
