2. The European Council  The leaders meet to decide the political priorities and major initiatives in the European Council. They meet twice every six months.  Herman Van Rompuy.

3. European Commission This is the president of the European commission, José Manuel Barroso and he comes from Portugal. There are 28 commissioners, one from each EU country.

4. The European Central Bank  The European Central Bank manages the euro, the European single currency and safeguards price stability in the EU.  The ECB is also responsible for framing and implementing the EU’s economic and monetary policy. Lucas and Stephanie
