No Messing Resources c See Some Examples of Our Power Point Slides With Hyperlinks All Software Is Very Easy to Use & Can Be Used on Whiteboards

No Messing Resources c This software could be used to:- Introduce part or all of a lesson Help pupils that have missed work Reinforce work to ‘targeted’ pupils Recap work as part of a revision programme Motivate all pupils using ICT Set homework/ class work on your Schools’ Intranet

No Messing Resources c The Animation on Our Web Site Will Advance Automatically When you receive your software you will be able to select any combination of slides using the ‘Menu’ and ‘Return to Menu’ hyper link buttons You will also be able to ‘pause’ your slides to add additional annotation with your whiteboard pen

No Messing Resources c Only a small number of slides are ‘live’ on our website. There are LOTS more slides on EACH one of the topics if you purchase our software!

No Messing Resources c Identify the Circuit Symbols A Cell A Battery of 2 Cells A Battery of a number of cells A Filament lamp/ Bulb A Switch A fixed Resistor

No Messing Resources c These Are All Electromagnets They all have a DC power supply a soft iron core (e.g a nail) and a coil

No Messing Resources c Fleming’s Left Hand Rule Tells You Which Way the Force Acts thuMb Motion First finger Field seCond finger Current

No Messing Resources c Wiring a plug Earth Wire Neutral Wire Fuse Live wire Cable grip Cable 1 2 3 4 5 6

No Messing Resources c Magnets and electromagnets http://www.brainpop.com/science/forces/magnetism/ http://www.brainpop.com/science/forces/magnetism/ - movie and quiz on magnetism http://www.brainpop.com/science/forces/magneticpo les/http://www.brainpop.com/science/forces/magneticpo les/ - on magnetic poles. http://education.magnet.fsu.edu/maglabalpha/html/e xpeditions/ whatmagnet.htmlhttp://education.magnet.fsu.edu/maglabalpha/html/e xpeditions/ whatmagnet.html - text-based information on magnets and http://www.phys.lsu.edu/dept/opps/key_ideas_about _magnets.htm lots of key facts about magnets (good for research). http://www.phys.lsu.edu/dept/opps/key_ideas_about _magnets.htm

No Messing Resources c Coal mines were ventilated using convection – HOW? Hot air rises as it is lighter Fresh, cold air falls into shaft Mine is ventilated with fresh air and miners don’t suffocate.

No Messing Resources c Do we get convection in microgravity? Because of the effects of gravity and convection, the candle flame on Earth always points ‘up’. It also burns with a sooty yellow flame. In a weightless environment – there is no ‘up’ & ‘down’. The candle flame burns with a hotter blue flame and with a distinct circular shape

No Messing Resources c Pigs & other animals make a lot of waste In the form of manure! Put it in a biogas digester and make methane gas that you can cook with! What can be done with all of this pooh?

No Messing Resources c The Parallelogram of Forces allows us to predict the direction an object will move when 2 forces act on it Object moves in this direction

No Messing Resources c We wouldn’t be able to drink from a straw if there was no air pressure As the air pressure is reduced in the straw….. The air pressure pushes the liquid up through the straw

No Messing Resources c Distance-time graphs 40 30 20 10 0 10 20 30 40 50 Distance (m) Time (s) 0 Accelerating Steady Speed At Rest Decelerating Accelerating (In Opposite Direction) Steady Speed (In Opposite Direction)

No Messing Resources c Where will a force of 5N have the greater ‘moment’ or Turning Effect? A B The greatest ‘moment’ is at point B as it is further away from the pivot

No Messing Resources c Our pupils adjust to varying amounts of light Dark Light

No Messing Resources c Describing Waves Amplitude Horizontal Displacement Vertical displacement Amplitude THE AMPLITUDE shows the displacement of the particles. It is related to energy

No Messing Resources c Radiation can be used as a ‘TRACER’ to see how the body is functioning For example the Thyroid Gland absorbs Iodine If radioactive Iodine is injected into the patient, we can see how much iodine is absorbed To avoid it getting out of hand like this ‘Overactive’ Thyroid Gland

No Messing Resources c A Radioactive Decay Graph 0 4 8 12 16 20 800 600 400 200 0 Count Rate Time in Hours One Half Life Radioactivity of Sample

No Messing Resources c The Sun 9 Planets (and their moons) Asteroids Meteorites and comets The Solar System
