2 Natural resources- oil farmland The main source of oil Was found on the bottom of the ocean Just outside the New- Brunswick shore. This is the most popular oil facility called Hibernia throughout the region. And more than 300 000 barrels are shipped out each day Because of this regions wide spaces, farmland is popular and a big part in this Region. They ship out many types of produce such as blueberries, strawberries, apples, corn, black huckleberry, teaberry and pumpkins. Cotton is also shipped out across the ocean to the many buyers.

3 Natural resources- lumber This region has many forests for tourism, logging and places just for wildlife to rome. There are many types of trees like oak, red maple grow in the valleys and lower areas. black and white spruce, balsam fir, yellow birch, and white pine once grew in the higher areas. Most trees have been logged throughout the region and they also grow really slow. There are many types of mammals in this region such as white tail deer, fox, snowshoe hare, coyote, mink, otter, muskrat, porcupine, beaver, and raccoon. Great blue herons, species of ducks, shorebird and waterfowl are found in marches beaches and lagoons. Gray seals and harbour seal are found on the harbours.

4 Natural resource- coal There are many coal mining plants in this region. There is also other minerals mined such as: zinc, lead, potash, salt, Asbestos, copper and gold. Most coal fields covers 63,000 square miles. About two thirds of coal was mined in Underground mines and the rest in Open pit mining plants.

5 Natural resources- cod natural gas In this region the main fish is cod but there is salmon, pollock, halibut, Redfish, herring, swordfish, sole, Flounder, haddock, clams, oysters scallops and lobster. These are fished And The population of fish is slowly Decreasing . Natural gas is used as a main resource in this region. There are many natural gases such As gasoline, diesel and acid. Gas can be in many forms and if in a bottle it can be in any shape.

6 Tourism Many people come to The Appalachian region For its beautiful views, Wide open spaces, Railways, vast Harbors And amazing wildlife.

8 Climate  The summers may be cool or warm and rainy. Precipitation ranges from about 1100 mm to 1400 mm per year. Winds over 50 to 60km per hour are considered the gale force winds and they come and go throughout the region. Winter wind speeds may reach 100 km per hour on the islands and shoreline. Ice storm and snow storms are frequent on the Atlantic coast. The bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. The difference between high and low tide can be as much as 15 meters. Compare this to the height of your house roof. At low tide the boats along the bay of Fundy rest on the bottom. As the water rises they will float again.

9 Wigwam  Wigwam is an ancestral part domed room dwelling formerly used by certain native American tribes such as the Beothuk and still used for ceremonial purposes. The wigwam is not to be confused with the Native Plains tipi which has a very different construction, structure, and use.
