3 I Plead With You… To Come Teach Us the Gospel – Acts 16:9 To be Reconciled to God – 2 Corinthians 5:20 To Forgive Your Brother – Luke 15:28

4 I Plead With You… To Remove My Infirmity – “Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me” (2 Corinthians 12:8). What was Paul’s thorn in the flesh? – 2 Corinthians 12:7; 11:22-33; 12:5, 9, 10; Galatians 4:15; 6:11 What is your thorn in the flesh? We need to develop Paul’s attitude (2 Cor. 12:7-10; Philippians 4:10-13).

5 I Plead With You… To Be United – “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (I Corinthians 1:10). Factions (1:11-12; 3:3-4); discipline of sin (5); lawsuits (6); food offered to idols (8); abuse of Lord’s Supper (11); misuse of gifts (14); teaching on the resurrection (15).

6 I Plead With You… To Be United – Jesus prayed that those who believed in Him “may be one” (John 17:20-21). – Unity requires effort and work (Eph. 4:3). – Unity will be achieved only when brethren are faithful to the doctrine of Christ & demonstrate godly attitudes towards one another. John 17:17, 20-21; 2 John 9; Ephesians 4:1-3, 4-6 – “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Ps. 133:1).

7 I Plead With You… To Love One Another – “And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another” (2 John 5). It is to be a sincere & fervent love (I Peter 1:22) Characteristics of this love (I Corinthians 13:4-7) As Christ has loved us (John 13:34-35; 15:12-14) Give up our goods and our life (I John 3:14-18) Love God = Love Brethren (I John 4:7, 12, 20-21)
