Procedures 2. Retrace the lines darker once you are finished correcting your mistakes. 3. Using colors, shade each temperature range a different color. 30s = purple 40s = blue 50s = green 60s = yellow 70s = orange 80s = red 4. Make a temperature/color key. (Copy the above key onto the front of the map.)

Questions How do the isotherm help you to understand what weather is like in different parts of the country? How might this be useful in forecasting the weather conditions in a particular area? What patterns can you see in temperatures? Where is it typically warmer? Where are the temperatures typically cooler? What reasons can you think of to explain the temperature patterns you notice?
