National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s (NFWF) Recovered Oil Fund for Wildlife 2010 Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill NFWF’s Recovered Oil Fund for Wildlife was made possible with proceeds from BP’s share of net revenue from oil recovered from the Deepwater Horizon site.

STC worked with 76 coastal properties. Of the 76 properties, 35 were able to accept funds and complete the sea turtle lighting retrofits. Maximizing Sea Turtle Nesting Success August – December 2010

Projects took place on important nesting beaches with a history of sea turtle disorientation events. Plan to add to existing stretches of dark beach to create a contiguous stretch of nesting habitat. STC darkened 24,000 linear feet of beach and restored over 4 miles of sea turtle nesting habitat. Maximizing Sea Turtle Nesting Success

Maximizing Sea Turtle Nesting Success Awarded May 2011 - (18 months) time frame. Currently working on projects throughout Florida. Contiguous expanse of restored nesting habitat. STC worked with Argent LED to produce a customized sea turtle friendly amber LED bollard light. Lighting project a success - led to 2 nd round of funding. (Phase II) (Phase II)
