Spanish in yr 7 so far By jahnyah durrant
2
At the start In primary school I was taught mandarin(Chinese) which I found quite challenging at times but enjoyed trying out small phrases whilst in restraints etc. Joining Harris I was introduced to the Spanish language which I find quite easy and often find myself looking on products and ingredients for the Spanish translation. I look forward to travelling to a country that speaks Spanish so that I will have an opportunity to speak with someone who understands me.

Introducing myself With practise I was able to introduce myself with simple words. The first thing I learnt was llamo(hello). The next step for me was to learn other basic words: Me llamo( my name is) Como to llamas?(what is your name?) Adios!( bye!) Hasta luego!(see you later!) Buenos dias(god morning) Buenos tardes ( good afternoon) Buenos noches (good evening) Vivo en( I live in ) Donde vives ?( where do you live?)

Emotions I found learning the different emotions interesting, as I could use these words in my day-to-day-life. I started telling my mum how I felt in Spanish and she often didn’t know what I was saying but after saying it in Spanish I would translate it into English.
5
Numbers I learnt numbers one to twenty using YouTube which I found was a great help.
6
classroom Stationary and subjects was a very fun topic as I could use my daily objects to memorise them. The next step was to use everything I had learnt previously to put these words into a sentence e.g. En mi estuche tengo una regla, una goma, un boligrafo y un lapiz pero no tengo un diccionario.
7
Actions We tied in what we had learnt about subjects and formed sentences explaining what we do in that subject. We described our teachers for each subject and explained why.
