2 Step #2 Put on disposable gloves before handling food Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

3 Step #3 Get a can of fruit and set it near the can opener Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

4 Step #4 Attach fruit can to ‘head’ of can opener and turn the handle in a circular motion to cut open the top of the can Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

5 Step #5 After finished cutting open the fruit can, carefully throw away the silver lid of the can into the trash can Note: BE VERY CAREFUL! The lid of the can is VERY sharp and can cut fingers very easily! Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

6 Step #6 Set up a serving tray with disposable plastic cups next to the open can of fruit Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

7 Step #7 Scoop out fruit with serving scoop #8 into plastic cups 1 scoop for each plastic cup Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

8 Step #8 When you reach the bottom of the can, turn it upside down to scrape the rest into the plastic cups When scraping out the bottom, measure out the fruit to match the same quantity as the other filled cups Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

9 Step #9 Set up a package of plastic lids next to the cups Push plastic lids down onto filled cups until they ‘snap’ securely into place Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

10 Step #10 When the tray is full of cups of fruit with lids, put the tray aside and start a new tray repeat steps #3-9 as necessary until you have enough trays for the day (check with supervisor if not sure of how many trays to prepare) Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

11 Step #11 When the fruit is all cupped up and secure, ask supervisor if it is necessary to label the fruit tray and where to store it until serving time Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep

12 Step #12 When the job is done, clean up your area and wipe off the food preparation area with clean, sanitized hand towel Cafeteria: Canned Fruit Prep
