Fruits and Vegetables Fruits must be priced by weight not by unit Usually one kilogram is required by the specification If you have other unit of measurement of weight please check that you have entered the correct “observed” unit of measurement. ICP KIT will convert it into kilograms There is NO conversion between “one unit” and a unit of weight

8. Zipper The specification requires a zipper of 20 cm. You must respect the length The unit of measurement is centimeters You must not use “unit” as unit of measurement You can use other ways of expressing lengths. ICP KIT will convert it to cm

9. Men’s Belt The unit of measurement is “one piece” The length is 95-130 cm The width us 2.5 - 4 cm Simple, single-layer leather No brand is specified

10. Electricity Different countries have used any of this two strategies Strategy 1: ask the electricity company to price the amount of Watts required by the specifications (600, 1200 and 2500) without asking is this was the “representative” amount of watts to be consumed in one month. Strategy 2: Use the table distributed in Aruba where each country was supposed to say how many months it takes to consume for instance 600 watts and make the calculations. This is will be discussed now. Jamaica has provided some material for discussion

12. Domestic Services Domestic Servant : unit of measurement is 1 hour (for a person who works 3 to 5 days a week, 4 hours per day). Sleep in servant: unit of measurement is 1 month (for a person who works 6 days per week). Baby sitting: unit of measurement is 1 hour (for a person who works 5 hours, taking care of one baby of 3 to 5 years)

13. Tiles The specifications asks for the price of one square meter of tiles Dimensions: Length of a tile: 15 - 25cm; width: 15 - 25cm Example: if you have tiles of 15 cm x 15 cm, each tile has a surface of 225 squared centimeters or 0.0225 squared meters. You need approximately 44 tiles to cover one squared meter. You have to give the price of 44 tiles. One color Industrial production, ceramic type

14. Rugs The unit of measurement is one square meter. There are two options: Option 1: Ask the price for exactly one square meter and enter it into the ICP KIT Option 2: Price a Rug of other dimensions and in “observed quantity” and “observed unit of measurement” enter the surface of this product so that the ICP KIT can convert it to one square meter If you find a rug of dimensions 2 m x 3 m it has a surface of 6 m, you can entered the price your have collected and the “observed quantity” as 6 not as 1. The other option is to divide the price by 6 and enter 1 in “observed quantity” The rug must be of popular or low stratum brand

15. Vinyl The unit of measurement is one square meter. 17. Refrigerators Some countries could not find the refrigerators with the capacity described in the specifications. They usually find larger ones Capacities are usually measured in cubic feet The refrigeratos asked in the specifications are the following Refrigerator-freezer, 210-245 Liters (7.42 – 8.65 cubic feet) Refrigerator-freezer, low, 165-190 Liters (5.83 – 6.71 cubic feet) Refrigerator with Freezer Compartment (3.18 to 3.71 cubic feet) This issue will be discussed now

18. Washing Machine In some countries the washing machines are larger than the one specified in the Caribbean list (6.5 to 8 kg) They could find the “top loader” for 11 – 15 kilogram load. This issue will be discussed now

19. Water Glass The specification requires to price one glass Unit of measurement is “one piece” If you have priced a pack of 6 glasses you must: Option 1: enter as “observed quantity” 6 Option 2: divide the price by 6 and enter 1 as “observed quatity”

20. Laundry The specification is asking how much does it cost to wash 1 kilogram of clothes (pressing requirement has been relaxed) If the machine has a capacity of 5 kg, you can enter the observed quantity as 5. Discussion: can it be self service?

21. Upholstery Unit of measurement is “one service” Price for labor only. Exclude cost of material Upholstery of sofa in classical style, three seats It is only ONE sofa with 3 seats Size of sofa 50 x 177 cm

22. Drills There are two drills to be priced: Electric drill (700-800 Watts) Bosch electric drill (550 W) Remember that when a brand is specified, you have to price that particular brand. In this case, if you do not find a Bosch drill, you do not price that product and try to price the other drill

23. Pharmaceuticals You must respect the specification, in particular The active component (dosage) The Laboratory Whether it is generic or non generic You cannot price one tablet and multiply by the number of tablets required. You have to find a box which has the number of tablets as close as possible to the specification

24. Medical Services In one country we found that the cost that is charged for a service that is provided by a medical provider differs if you have or don't have insurance. Remember we need the price of a consultation paid with out of pocket money Specify stratum of clinic Discussion

25. Physiotherapy Unit of measurement is “one service” Ten Sessions of 30 minutes after knee surgery. Subsequent visit (From second visit on; do not price first visit)

Comment from a country: The information that we received from the travel agency is that based on the specs. that is given by the ICP the fares that meet these are considered bargain fares and therefore these are the prices that we collected. Post Paid telephone service package Unit of measurement: 1 month Price includes all monthly fees for specified package - Price excludes matriculation fees, international calls - Specify providers name and monthly total usage Exclude: Contracts providing a mobile phone and related equipment Line contract: Post-paid package, national service (calls + SMS) - Length of contract: 12 - 24 months Services: Post-paid package, 720 - 1200 minutes and 200 - 400 SMS included (closest to 1000 min. calling time and closest to 300 pieces)

30. Calls GMS to GMS Call from a GSM mobile phone to a GSM mobile phone (between two biggest providers) Unit of measurement is 5 minutes, this means that we are pricing a call which lasts 5 minutes If you have the price for 1 minute you have to multiply by 5 if it is a flat rate.

31. Pre paid GMS card Call from a GSM mobile phone to a GSM mobile phone (between same biggest provider) - prepaid card- the cost of about 10 minutes The unit of measurement if 10 Minutes. If you have the price for one minute you have to multiply by 10.
