Properly Securing the SCBA in Stowage Bracket Clips 1. Insert SCBA into walk-away bracket clips, ensuring the stowage strap is not trapped within the bracket clips or by the SCBA cylinder. SCBA cylinder valve should rest on hanger plate of stowage bracket. 2. Extend both side straps to fully extended positions as shown and ensure mask-mounted regulator has been stowed in its holder on waist strap. SCBA correctly inserted in the walkaway bracket clasps. Cylinder valve is down and the harness back plate is facing out. Make sure the SCBA cylinder is the proper size (i.e. 30 or 45 minute cylinder) for the locker. The lockers are labeled according to the cylinder size the brackets are designed to hold. Step 2 Harness Back plate

Properly Securing the SCBA in Stowage Bracket Clips 3. Buckle waist belt (3-A) and take up all slack by tightening adjustments on both sides of waist belt (3-B and C). Step 3-A Step 3-BStep 3-C

Properly Securing the SCBA in Stowage Bracket Clips 4. Place facepiece assembly under right side-strap as shown. The facepiece assembly shall be placed below the backplate with the rubber gasket against the wire frame (lens facing out). Tighten side-strap adjustment strap to hold facepiece assembly in place.. Note: the Voice Amplifier is installed on facepiece Step 4

Properly Securing the SCBA in Stowage Bracket Clips 5. Take waist belt with mask-mounted regulator in its holder and raise waist straps and pads up under left side-strap next to facepiece as shown. Tighten left shoulder strap to hold regulator in place.. Step 5-AStep 5-BStep 5-C

Properly Securing the SCBA in Stowage Bracket Clips 6. Making sure shoulder straps stay secure over the facepiece and mask- mounted regulator, fold any loose straps up into the center of the apparatus. While keeping one hand (or forearm) in place to hold this, reach behind SCBA and grab the stowage strap from both sides. Connect stowage strap around SCBA and tighten. The stowage strap should be positioned below pressure reducer as shown (6). Step 6 Stowage strap is below primary pressure reducer.

Properly Securing the SCBA in Stowage Bracket Clips 7. Ensure facepiece and mask-mounted regulator are secured behind the side straps of the backpack. Place the extended portions of the side and waist straps that may be hanging below the SCBA under the stowage strap. The SCBA is now properly and securely stowed with the facepiece. Stowed SCBA with Facepiece
