Rocket Math On Friday, we had our first two minute timings for this year. I am going to return your sheets to you so that you can see how you did. (pass out sheets) In your binder, you have special sheets to graph your progress on your two minute timings. Find your Rocket Math section. Look for the graph for…

…addition. We are going to make the type of graph that will show us if our scores go up, go down, or stay the same. What type of graph would that be? (line graph) I am going to move my paper up so that you can see the bottom…

Friday’s date was 9/11. Let’s write that in our first box *.
The horizontal side of our graph is for the dates of our two minute timings. Friday’s date was 9/11. Let’s write that in our first box *. Look at the vertical side of our graph. This side is for the number of correct facts. There are darker lines and lighter lines. The darker lines are numbers. What do they count by? (5’s) What about the lighter lines? (1’s) You are going to make a dot on the 9/11 line to show how many correct facts you had on your first two minute timing. For example, if I had 41 correct facts, I would put my dot right here *. Go ahead and make your dot. 9/10

Now find your graph for subtraction.
I am going to move my paper up so that you can see the bottom…

Write * Friday’s date, 9/11, in your first box.
Then make a dot on your 9/11 line to show how many subtraction facts you had correct. For example, if I had 28 correct facts, I would put my dot right here *. When you are done with your graph, close your binder. (collect two minute timing sheets) Next, you should open your Rocket Math folder and find your… 9/10

…Rocket sheet. Down at the bottom * find the level you are on today. If it is the same level as last time, write your date under the next try. If you passed last time , then you are on a new level today. You may color in the letter that you passed on your rocket. Then you will fill in the date under first try for your new level. Here are our new partners for the week…
