5. Format of a Work Cited list The title, Work(s) Cited, should be centered above the entries The entries should be in alphabetical order, based on the first word in the entry (usually the author’s last name). Follow punctuation rules exactly.

6. Practice: Make a Work Cited entry for Les Miserables This book will have slightly different format since it is translated. Use this format: Author’s Last Name, Author’s First Name. Title. Trans. Name of Translator. Place of publication: Publisher, year. Example: Allende, Isabel. Zorro. Trans. Margaret Sayers Peden. London: Fourth Estate, 2005.
