9. When quoting  using words that do not belong to you. When summarizing  taking ideas and making them your own words (Do NOT copy and paste something into a document and merely change a few words. This is NOT summarizing.)

10. Place the author’s last name and page number of quote in parenthesis within the text. Ex. Going to the mall is a very “difficult and terrible job” (Miller 246). Ex. Miller stated that going to the mall is a very “difficult and terrible job” (246)

11. When more information is necessary Citing indirect sources Ex. (Kennedy qtd. in Marshall 246) Source with no author  Use the first word of the entire title. Ex. Entire title  “Oregon Bans Fireworks.” Ex. PSR  (“Oregon” A12)
