6 Citing Sources When is citing unnecessary?  Words, thoughts, and ideas of your own creation. Or Or  Information considered to be common knowledge. When in doubt, provide a citation.

7 Citing Sources Example Common knowledge John F. Kennedy was the 35 th president of the United States. Not common knowledge: In 1955, while recuperating from a back operation, Kennedy wrote Profiles in Courage, which won a Pulitzer Prize. "Biography of John F. Kennedy."
