Instructions Use this timeline as an instruction sheet or planner for each event until you know what works / doesn’t work for you and how you work. There is a corresponding checklist as well. 1.Titling this timeline with the event makes this official and provides you a tangible record for those that are ‘visual, kinesthetic’. 2.The 2 nd page allows you to add / keep notes on what you did differently, what worked or didn’t, when you need to move things around etc. 3.As an emerging speaker, your first couple of speeches may not be that near each other, or you may have a few in a row and then nothing. Having this and the corresponding notes provides you reference points and memory joggers. 4.As an emerging speaker, sometimes you just get so excited about getting those first couple of gigs, you are overcome with just doing speech preparation (which is important), but starting out presenting yourself as a professional & someone easy to do business with makes for more referrals AND reduces snags that may impede that first or second speech. 5.Some of the items in the checklist are what ‘professionals’ do, and as someone just starting out, you want to distinguish yourself from the rest, especially if you want to continue to build momentum for more speaking engagements.
